  1. Football's coming home, and that's reminded me that we're coming up on the 2022 Wurld Cup. Last time out, the victors were the Sunset Sea Islands. Since they can't host the tournament for obvious reasons, I figure we can open it up for applications like they do IRL. Additionally, we can replicate the continental tournaments as qualifiers - or, if there aren't enough nations, it can be a sort of warm-up tournament. By my reading of the map, Argis is the only continent with enough active players to host a tournament - the rest of you lot would have to group up. Yuck. I'm happy to take the lead on Argis, and I understand @Oyus has an interest in handling things too, so between the both of us we can figure out the qualifiers stage and prepare for the 2022 Wurld Cup. I suppose this post is just putting the feelers out - seeing who's interested and who would participate. We can use a match generator for the fixtures, we have lineup builders, and kit designers. Calendar: Now - July 18: gauging interest, menial behind-the-scenes planning July 19 - end of July: tournament planning & buildup August: tournaments start & finish For now, we can see where we're at with active participants so we can see which continents need grouping together to have enough teams. Let's get ready for a summer of football!

  2. Preludes here. OOC here. It is assumed that most of the following plans are not public knowledge. At most news coverage and press releases may have covered only the establishment and intention of these facilities. I don't feel like writing prose right now. Its not gonna be a fun read but pretty jargon-y. I just want to be clear about the details and some thoughts given to how something like this is actually made possible. Its boring, but thats what you get with even broad detail like this. --- PROJECT ADLANTIS APRIL, 2021 On April 30th, 2021, no. 25 and 22 Auxiliary Groups of the Iverican Armada deployed—underway for Diego Gracias island in Marenesia and Lighthouse Island in Corinium respectively. Both groups were composed of cable laying ships, supply ships, oilers, dredgers, vehicle container ships, and expeditionary mobile base vessels. Along with them and onboard them came the largest concentrations of Iverican infrastructure ever seen in the Adlantic. The goal was simple: bring Iverican Security to Iverican Adlantic interests. Approximately 12,000 auxiliary personnel from Exersito, Armada, and the Fuersas L'Aire were deployed for the two-pronged project. An estimated 20,000 metric tons of cargo were being moved from Ferrefaairehafen to Diego Gracias and from ABP Explorator to Lighthouse Island. Enough diesel to power a fleet, enough food to feed a city, enough prefabs to make small cities were being shipped by one of Eurth's largest naval sealift flotillas—and this was just the first trip. The building project, with the twin objectives of establishing facilities in the North Adlantic and the South Adlantic, would entail the construction of 3 facilities. 2 Major service and support seaports with attached airfields, housing, and drydocks and one minor service facility to be reclaimed from a shallow reef off the coast of Yeetland. Projection of the future Diego Gracias Island Base Finance Initial Capital Investment is projected to cost upwards of $1.2 billion standard units. Of that amount, $180 million units are to be allocated to the cost of constructing military shipping facilities (approx. $53,000/metre of berth) and airfields, $516 million for labour costs, $325 million for capital expenses, $99 million for fleet operating expenses, and approximately $80 million for other accrued expenses. Funds were sourced from the Republican Armed Service's annual construction budget, though the RAS passed a requisition order to the Executive Ministry to secure a loan from the Federated Commonwealth Bank under the FedCom Defence Reserve Act. The loan was taken to cover lump-sum payment of some assets exceeding the available capital of the RAS (defence budget being released in staggered quarterly amounts) and valued at $636 million at a collateral coverage ratio of 1.112. The RAS pledged assets from its recently decommission Vasqqan Border defence line (See Item C. 1.) and its accounts receivable from the Republican government as collateral. Given that military expediature seemed to be holding at its RAS 2020 modernisation levels despite the intention to have it fall by 2021, the Executive Ministry had also been considering beginning a white paper to keep the RAS budget stable for another year or two. Whether this would mean a 0.5% income tax increase on the upper 60% of income earners still remains to be seen. Labour & Capital North: Infrastructure on lighthouse island will be constructed by a contracted company from South Corinium ( @Seylos ). Most hardware (communication equipment, electro-optical systems, defensive systems, signals equipment, etc.) will be shipped from a holding facility in ABP Explorator. Much of the equipment and Iverican manpower is already holding at ABP Explorator. Contracted parties from South Corinium will provide the majority of labour in non-sensitive areas of the facility and will almost exclusively supply raw material. Iverican defence industry contractors have been hired as consultants and senior management. Land reclamation projects for the establishment of the reef facility will also be completed by contracted Corinian companies, though the expeditionary mobile base and its annexes will be fitted by the Armada Iverica. South: Infrastructure on Diego Gracias Island will be constructed by a contracted company from Tangimoana ( @Gallambria ). Most hardware will be shipped from a holding facility in Ferrefaairehafen, Variota. Caissons were built in Tangimoana to facilitate faster completion of the port facilities needed to expedite further construction. All facilities will be built with an isolated fueling depot, munitions depot, and housing block in addition to any storage, seaport, or airport infrastructure. Additional consideration was also given for annexes to house WARD installations (such as OTH masts, hardened bunkers for the storage of TELs, hardened silos, command and control bunkers, etc.), submarine service facilities, and other measures necessary for defence (such as junctions for acoustic surveillance cables, shore fortifications, and protective structures. The project would be under the direct supervision of Almirante Iustino Otello, architect of the "oriental chain" of Armada sea stations in the North Oriental Ocean. ALM Otello has over 15 years of experience in leading maritime infrastructure projects in the Armada Auxiliary Command. His most recently completed project being the Ultramares Joint Forces Station on Ultramares Island. Projection of the future "Reef Base" off the east coast of Yeetland Logistics Outlines had been simple, clear, and built around a rotating supply chain of coordinated aerial and maritime freight that the Republican Armed Service had spent years developing. The RAS supply chain had been one of the most heavily invested internal projects that the Ministry of Defence had taken up in the past decades. Mistakes from the Argic Wars had led to the development of point-to-point transport, where major depots and storage facilities were within direct access of a major military airbase, seaport, or both. Unlike the hub and spoke system that predated it, point-to-point logistics reduced bottlenecks considerably. The interbranch operation brought in auxiliary arms from three branches of service, pressing in recent acquisitions like the Eurth's largest heavy-lift aircraft, the @Prymontian Tungstrale into service and expeditionary mobile bases recently retrofitted from the Islandero Program. Coordination between origin points, delivery personnel, and endpoint on-site command staff was kept updated live by Noosphera data link, Link 18 communications. En route, the supply chain relied on stop-over facilities like @Prymont's Horizon Island base, Gallambria's RGN Tangimoana, and the Joint Trident base in Ferrefaairehafen, Variota. In the Argic Passage, ABP Resolucion and Explorator also served as depots for temporary storage and holding points for freight vehicles. It was projected that three major phases of supply would be needed to get all the hardware on-site. Given the RAS' preparation, all phases could be completed within 3 months. Politics Channels had been opened with the Corinians. The South Corinian government was only too happy to lease the island. The Corinians would be awarded exclusive contracts for construction as well as jobs and supply contracts once the project was completed. Likewise, no protest was heard from the North Corininians, whom were also probed for a response on the matter. In the south, the Gallambrian government had been in closed doors discussions with the RAS and had agreed to support the Terra Nullius establishment. Diego Garcias, was also to be made part of the TRIDENT network of joint bases. Domestically, protest appeared at government spending but fizzled out. The Deitorr Administration had been immensely fortunate that the turn of events had put the Flashpoint at Corinium and growing awareness of the Anglian threat at the forefront of public attention. Few would feel it amiss if their government took more proactive defence measures when they felt the world turn an increasingly more dangerous leaf. 3. Oooooh! I'd love to throw Cashar into an Alharun team (I think that's what you're saying? That we'd have to have an Alharun team instead of individual teams because there isn't enough players otherwise?)

  4. I love that you're taking the lead on this. My only reservation is being absent in August when the tournament starts. These are the regional qualification games, yes? And the actual world cup will take place next year in 2022?

  6. So, in lieu of figuring out my conlang and everything, I've made a few name changes. The capital city of Cashar is called Pavat. The Monran Bight would now be the Monim Bay / Bight (whichever fits best). The Marjan Mountains are now the Majar Mountains. The biggest mountain is Lazaz. The river is called the Raras River (not sure if that's important or not).

  8. 07/07/21 Hit or Miss : Rhava addition Hey vlog, so July 30th I forgot to vlog, but it wasn't really a big deal, because we were going to tour the old quarter but a massive storm hit so we just went to the New Rhava Aquarium, which is the biggest aquarium in the country. In Rhava there is a law that no museum may have ownership of an animal bigger than a great white. They had a giant exhibit of penguins and a tube that went underwater where we saw morays and manta rays. We also got to pet little sharks and stingrays. It was so magical. Then I treated myself, by getting fresh sesame balls stuffed with red bean paste from the bakery below my hotel. The food was so good, it was greasy, filling, and very hot in temperature. The bean paste was cold, and sweet. It was such a great snack. Anyways, the past 7 days I have been trapped inside, because of killer storms and the mourning for the late president. More bad news, my flight for Mandura was cancelled, so looks like I wont be vlogging that either. But anyways, today I was going to check out the old district of the city. I called a taxi through the hotel, and was driven to main street, in front of an old catholic church. The architecture was so beautiful, with carved gargoyles clutching the sides of the red roofs, while stained windows pierced the tan walls with their vibrant colors. I walked around for a bit and stumbled into a restaurant/pub. The lights were dimmed, and the waitress came over to me and gave me a glass of sangria and asked what I wanted to eat. Top service, 5 stars. I ordered some grilled oysters and some scallops. The grilled oysters were awesome, they were so big and they were grilled in cheese and oil, and as I took bites the juices ran down my mouth. The scallops came in their shells on top of noodles, in black bean sauce. This was a apparently a signature dish of Chow Chó, and it was excellent. The scallops were nice and umami and the noodles and bean sauce were very salty. I decided I would walk to the blue palace, which is a palace right outside the old district that looks down onto the city. As I walked through the streets to get there, I looked at the beautiful houses with red tiled roofs, and red stilts attacking them to the ground. The sky was cloudless, and the leaves rustling in the wind were very soothing. But what happened next, I did not enjoy. I had to hike up the hill to the palace, and there were so many stairs. For such a nice and fancy city, could they of not set up and elevator! When I arrived at the palace, I was panting and soaked in sweat. But the building was beautiful, the swopping tiled blue roofs, looked so good with the gold naga snaking down the roof. And more red stilts attacking it to the hill, what is with that. And then, something even worse happened. After walking through the palace, and seeing an ancient buddhist shrine, I noticed that there was a gondola running from the top of the mountain to the ports. I was very upset. I took the gondola, and went to a restaurant called YaYa. They sold this killer poutine, with made in duck fat. The fries were so good, and were given to you in a cone. I also ordered a Banh Mi, which was made with duck fat. IT WAS SO GOOD, definitely coming back, before I leave. I then went to a Rhavanese ice cream roll place, where I tried it for the first time. It was pretty good, but very filling. The designs were cool, and I loved the fresh fruit on the top. I then headed home, and went to bed. Good night Rhava! To Be Continued...

  9. Okay so regarding who can use the canal: Volta knows that if they restrict it to the government of Volta that'd probably put a huge target on their backs so Volta would allow other nations to access it provided they follow a few ground rules. Any nation directly at war (as in troops, ships, and planes are literally shooting at each other war) with Volta will be denied access to the canal, for obvious reasons. So long as a country (or really whoever owns the ship passing through the canal, be it a private company or a government) is willing to pay a transit fee, they'd be allowed access to the canal. This is similar to what you have to do when transiting the Suez Canal or Panama Canal irl. Volta may grant free access to the canals to a country that has a special agreement with Volta. These agreements would only be granted to certain countries where Volta believes it would gain more from providing free access than by charging the toll. So most countries wouldn't get this exemption, and only a select few will. In general Volta will avoid denying access to the canal for other countries, just as an attempt to not give other countries a reason to invade (like what happened with the Suez Crisis irl). That's not to say Volta will never deny access, just that for something like that to happen you must have really really pissed off Volta by doing something extreme (for example, point 1 on this list, or outright invading a neighboring country for no good reason whatsoever, or openly sponsoring a terrorist attack against Volta, etc). Now for IC history, I'm thinking that the military would have pushed hard for it to be an only-for-Volta thing, but the government would say no and open it up to international transit, both to avoid putting a target on Volta (as mentioned already) and also to rake in that sweet sweet transit fee cash.

  10. 06/30/21 Hit or Miss: Rhava addition *Isabel Smith is a famous vlogger from Europa, who has over 4 million subscribers. Previously she has visited countries in Argis, and this trip will be her first trip to Alharu.* Hey Vlog, its me Isabel. Today, we will be travelling to what is called the crown jewel of the Eastern Alharun islands, Rhava. At 6:30 am I arrived at my airline at the airport. The flight in question was a straight flight across the Adlantic on Sakura Air, the official airline of Rhava. I will be flying business class, and so I was immediately brought to the airline lounge. The lounge was spectacular. Each chair was cushioned and could recline, and you had a straight view of the runway. While I was there I snacked on some cheese, and edited my travel plans. Then my flight was called and we headed to the gate, me grabbing a couple cheeses for the flight lol. When I arrived on the plane the polite people showed me to my seat, which was curtained off from the rest of plane. I stowed my luggage in the carry on and preceded to raid the seat compartments. I found some slippers, a blanket, and a eye mask. I was rather disappointed when I turned on the tv and all that came up were R-Dramas in Nhai, so I spent most of the flight trying to sleep, and boy was it easy. When we were about halfway through the flight the flight attendant came and gave me some champagne fresh from the central region, and I think what they said was called Nem Nuong. The pink meat on the stick was to die for, the sweetness and the texture were wonderful. However, as we entered Rhavanese airspace I felt a bit woozy because apparently Rhava was going through a hectic month with deadly hurricanes. There was a lot of turbulence. Now, you may be asking where was I planning on landing. My flight was to Lãng Ri Sumat INT airport in Chow Chó. I chose this city because I decided to start from the south, and drive up north. Then, on my flight back I would stop in Mandura City, and the fly home. The flight into the city was reasonably clear, and as I looked out the window I watched as the city grow before me. The thrill I felt as the plane passed over all the little towns surrounded by mountains, before landing next to the glistening waters of the Jaang River. I grabbed my carry ons and we were shepherded to the front of the plane, where we walked into the airport. The airport was a lot cleaner then most places in Europa, and I was happy to see all the people getting off the plane in aw. I quickly went through customs and then left the airport. The sweltering heat was a lot to handle, my god it was hot. 35 celcius, wow. The Rhavanese summer is wonderfully hot. One of the things I was able to check off immediately on my checklist of things to do was ride a tuk tuk, though it was not as wonderful as I thought it was. The tuk tuk driver was not the kindest person saying I was too heavy and that I needed to pay extra. And we waited in 30 degree weather in traffic, while I inhaled exhaust. On top of that the driver dropped me off a block away from the hotel, and I had to walk the rest of the way. Not cool man. I walked to the Anatamin hotel myself, and the people there were very nice. They helped me to the room, and asked if I needed anything. Anyways, after I got settled I went to the Concierge to ask for places to go for dinner. The Concierge recommended this famous restaurant called Rhava Citron, and it was extraordinary. They had this huge bowl of simmering Phở Đặc Biệt, and these traditional spring rolls made with rice paper called Chả Giò. They also had this tradition southern desert called Jê Múng, directly translating to jelly paste. It was a group of multicolored gelatinous cubes flavored passionfruit-mango, rasberry-lime, and kiwi-guava. They were to die for, they were very easy to eat, tasted wonderful, and were cold, which was good for the heat that had only slightly gotten less humid. I also met up with my friend Qui, and me and him talked for a while, then I decided it was time to go home. This time I just called a taxi and drove home. I ended up going to sleep watching the lights turn on in the city. To Be Continued...

  11. Hello, I am revamping Yeosan into something much more fulfilling and interesting to me than what it was before. Fulgi and I have worked together and Yeosan will now be an autonomous prefecture of the FASR. Following is a basic summary of the revamp: The Yeosan Autonomous Prefecture (麗山自治州; 여산자치주) is an autonomous prefecture of Fulgistan located Southeast of Mainland Fulgistan on a mountain island between the Synthe and Turtle seas. It's capital city is Seonggyeong (城京; 성경), the name referring to the wall and gate system around the city. The island's mountain is referred to as Baektusan (白頭山; 백두산). Yeosan neighbours Rhava and Utogo on the island. Historically Yeosan was a tributary state to the Huang similar to Korea and China. In the early 20th century it came under the rule of the 5 Colour Empire (大五色帝國; 대오색제국) and rapidly industrialised. After the collapse of the 5 Colour Empire, Yeosan was thrown into chaos and slowly a liberation front gained power. In an effort to garner wider support, the Yeosan People's Party (麗山人民黨; 여산인민당) did not seek to destroy long standing tradition or promote any sort of cultural revolution in Yeosan. Because of this they garnered wide support in the chaotic times post colonisiation. After a referendum in cooperation with the FASR, Yeosan was incorporated into the FASR, but due to it's cultural and linguistic differences, it was given the status of a self governing prefecture. The red octagon on it's flag underlaying the traditional design is an artistic reference to this as it marks the liberation of the people by the People's Party and FASR but respect of long standing appreciated traditions by Yeosan's people. Culturally Yeosan is Koreanic in nature. Linguistically it is the same, but because of the influence from the 5 Colour Empire and the FASR, Chinese characters or Hanja (漢字; 한자) are still frequently used in writing mixed in with the native script, Eonmun (諺文; 언문). Yeosan's Chinese Character usage differs from other nation's in that Yeosan prefers to use the Kangxi dictionary solely for it's official character forms. See the fully revamped iiWiki page here: https://iiwiki.us/wiki/Yeosan. Below is the new flag: On this note, I would like to have my flag changed on the map to this, and also if possible add the characters 麗山自治州 under the name in English. I wasn't sure what to tag this as

  12. I would like to ask for this small river to be added to the large map in the next update please. It would be useful thing in the lore, regarding the culture and linguistic zones in the area. Thank you

  13. 7 day mourning period comes to end After the death of our late president, the country has been in a mourning period. With most shops closed and people forced to stay in their homes. Now the mourning comes to an end with people taking to the streets to honor our glorious leader, and lighting lanterns and incense in honor. Though not all were grateful towards our previous leader. In the cities of Al-cedaan and Manaw, posters of President Minh were vandalized, with effigies being burned. And in Mandura city, they celebrated. This mockery of our grand nation is unacceptable, and I am filled with pride that our viewerbase does not stoop this low. also week no storms hit Rhava, causing significant progress on Seaway 66, with the road full getting paved from Al-Cedaan to Kings Corner. Though scientists predict this is not the last of the storms. Thats all we have time for, I am Tang Chen and this is RNN This show is brought to you by viewers like you

  14. The following is for internal documents/memos/etc of Great Anglia as it pushes on. Contingency Plans New Wurld -Classified Level 1- War Plan Kigela With ████████ secured, the possibility of successful armed invasion of █████████ has increased significantly. Currently analysis of the strength of ██████ armed forces suggests that quick coastal seizures are easily possible. Significant jungle warfare is expected beyond coastal regions. However most population centers lie within these regions. Majority capitulation of the nation expected within six to eight months. Continued resistance should be dealt with using bombing campaigns in the jungles north of the urban hubs. Major infantry assaults should only be conducted after air assaults. Native ████████ conscripts should be used first with █████ descendant conscripts second after the first’s expenditure. Anglian units should provide support and push deeper into ██████ territory after other units have been expended. War Plan Beech Support from █████████ must be secured before this plan is put into effect. Island of █████ is considered to be highly vulnerable, however the entity known as the “███████ State” is still seen as an unknown variable. █████ provides little value in conquest before the island of ██████. Current defense analysis shows significant defense vulnerabilities on the island of ████ in the south. Previous administration did not make defensive preparations in this location. █████████ army is currently deployed to multiple locations making ground landing possible, however significant naval forces would need to be deployed to push ████████ navy out of position. Current analysis shows two possibilities. Securing the island of █████████ would provide an easy point for invasion and would meet little resistance. However the time needed to setup the infrastructure on the island for military operations would give too much warning to the ████████. Possible allies include the nations of the organization called “TRIDENT”, Tagmatium, █████████, and Gallambria. Recommended option would be to bypass █████████ and directly attack ████. Analysts believe time to take ████ would be within one week. With a beachhead and naval facilities left intact direct invasion of the island of ██████ could be immediate. Invasion through “█████” would be the path of least resistance. Once a beachhead is established on ██████ capitulation is predicted within two to three months. Extreme measures would be authorized for ████, █████, and ████. New ██████ should be spared from additional damages. War Plan Myrtle ██████████ is seen as the greatest naval threat in the region. Direct confrontation is not recommended, however analysts believe that a direct naval war with the ██████████ Navy would result in the majority destruction of their ocean forces within three to four weeks with aggressive efforts. However military analysts believe that ██████████ would receive immediate reinforcements from the Kingdom of █████ and eventual reinforcements from “TRIDENT”. Quick action would be required to crush the ██████████ and █████ navies before TRIDENT reinforcements arrive. Invasion forces should ignore the ██████████ mainland and take the ██████████ Adlantic Territories. Anglian naval dominance should be used to strangle ██████████ of resources. Mainland invasion should be delayed six months to a year to ensure ██████████ is out of usable resources. Capitulation is expected within nine months to one year with high casualties. Protectorate of Bashan has been estimated to fall within two to three weeks without support from its mainland. After collapse of ██████████, ███████ ██████████ will be cut from all outside supplies. The nation should fall to Anglian attack after five to six weeks. War Plan Oleaceae The last of ███████ ██████ will be especially difficult to bring under Anglian control. Naval dominance will be paramount. Suverina will be critical in attacking the █████████. Probable allies include TRIDENT, Seylos, and ███████ ████████. ██████ naval forces will be of no consequence to head off from assisting █████████. Suverinan, Anglian, and OCA forces will make an initial push to the north. Anglian Navy is expected to overwhelm █████████ navy within three to four weeks. Naval invasions should occur throughout █████████ northern coast. ████████ outpost of “Zharr” is considered non essential. It contains no useable resources for the empire and is considered contaminated. Containment is recommended as well as blockade. ████████ fleet is split between multiple locations and can be easily destroyed in contained efforts. The land of ███████ ████████ is considered low priority. Containment and continued bombing should be pursued. Annexation is not considered a high priority as the barbarian population would be unfit for the Anglian Empire. War Plan Pine After the annexation of █████ and the containment of the ██████████ navy, forces should be moved to the ██████ lands. The █████ territory of ███ ██-████ will be easily neutralized. Majority of TRIDENT forces should have been dealt with by this point. ████████ forces will have been depleted defending their allies. ██████ lands should be heavily secured for military buildup with direct invasion occurring three to four weeks after ████████ annexation. TRIDENT ally of ██████ would be considered little risk. Invasion from the east would be preferred supported by naval invasion of the ████████ southern coast. Capitulation estimated at one to two months.
