Welcome to Europa. This site is part of the region of Europa in the online game NationStates. The region of Europa is a diverse community of nations, with a wide range of political and ideological values, working together through various institutions and alliances - at least when they're not threatening to go to war with each other. Whether you want to play it safe with a liberal democracy, set up a communist regime, or rule your citizens with an iron fist and the threat of turning them into dog food, Europa is a great region to play in. As one of the oldest regions in the game, everybody who's anybody wants to try their hand at ruling their own country right here in Europa. Just head on over to the Forum and have a read through the sticky threads. If you're curious about how all of this work, we've included some helpful links to get you started. TO: Interested companies and corporate entities

To interested parties,

The rising global demand of consumer products calls for an even greater demand in manufacturing. New products must be brought to market in ever-shorter timeframes and customers demand much more personalized products. Rapidly changing markets require increased flexibility and an efficient use of resources and energy. Syndustries, based in Synturia, deals with issues that result in better utilization of raw materials and energy, integration of design and manufacturing activities requiring the invention of suitable new manufacturing processes and techniques, unmanned production dependent on efficient and reliable control of various processes including intelligent processing, introduction of new materials in industrial production necessitating new manufacturing process technology, and more. Allow us to showcase what Syndustries and its divisions has to offer:

RE: More Machine Now Than Man

Madam,

The advanced nature of Synturian robotics and industrial automation has piqued the interests of my partners in Asgeirria. To the point, we are seeking to automate 12,000 prefabrication jobs in four factories at the ValenCorp Dockyard in Kostaldek. The manufacturing consists of producing die, shaping metal, affixing parts, doing wiring, and doing non-technical tasks from the laying to the launching of ships. In essence, we want an almost 100% automated means of production for ships, requiring the smallest production cost and lowest margin of error. If you could get an estimate of unit and total costs through the ACE office to me, it would be much appreciated.

Yours,

Lance Valentino,

From: Darius Kleinheinz, Minister of Economic Affairs of the Radiant Republic of the Sunset Sea Islands

Dear Mrs Minister,

The wonders which are created in Synturian manufacturies never cease to filly my thoughts with sincere amazement. Most industrial robots in Sunset Sea Islandian factories are not up to date by Synturian standards and we, as the Ministry of Economic Affairs, are extremely interested in keeping productivity levels in the Sunset Sea Islands as high as possible. Therefore, we would be thankful if bilateral talks were initiated to draft up a trade agreement lucrative for both of our nations. However, we have another proposal to tighten the economic relations between the Syndicate State of Synturia and the Radiant Republic of the Sunset Sea Islands.

I, as a representative of my ministry and the government of the Radiant Republic of the Sunset Sea Islands, would like to propose the establishment of a "display window" for Synturian technology in the Sunset Sea Islands. What we envision is more than a flagship store or exhibition space for Synthetec, Syndrome and Syndustries, but rather an industrial park for production in the Sunset Sea Islands as well as a central tower where all three companies could present their masterpieces to the public and exchange technological ideas with their Sunset Sea Islandian counterparts. As you might have heard the Sunset Sea Islands are constructing a new city in the northeast of our nation which would be perfectly suited for heavy industry, a perfect spot for a "display window" to Synturia. Furthermore, we are proposing a joint Treaty for Economic and Scientific Exchange (TESE). By cooperating in such a way both nations could benefit from close interaction and cooperation.

The Sunset Sea Islands are always interested in importing innovative machinery and revolutionary technology from the Syndicate State of Synturia, so having a production site within the SSI would surely open up a lucrative market for the Synturian companies. As an exchange, we would also be willing to construct a similar industrial park for Sunset Sea Islandian companies within Synturia, should the Synturian government support this initiative.

We are anticipating your reply and hope that the bonds of the friendship between our nations can be deepened by this proposal.

With utmost respect,

TO: Darius Kleinheinz, Minister of Economic Affairs, Radiant Republic of the @Sunset Sea Islands

I am most certain the Synturian engineers who have dedicated their effort and passion in this field would be truly humbled by your kind words on our long invested efforts. I am also pleased to hear that the Sunset Sea Islands value efficient productivity levels, exemplified by your lucrative proposition for initiating bilateral talks for further cooperation.

Your proposition for a joint Treaty for Economic and Scientific Exchange (TESE) does indeed sound mutually beneficial and we would like to know more about the details outlining this treaty perhaps through mutually constructing a draft of this treaty along with the draft of the trade agreement.

On behalf of the Syndicate State of Synturia, we are pleased to receive your esteemed interests in revamping and upgrading Sunset Sea Islandian factories with Synturian automation technology. I look forward to further discussing the details of what automation solutions we might be able to cater to your facilities and to your new city along with the details for the exhibition/industrial park for production and the central tower. We are also very much interested in constructing a similar industrial park for Sunset Sea Islandian companies to present their masterpieces and exchange technological ideas to the public as well.

The Sunset Sea Islands' aeronautics industry has been renowned by Synturian communications companies for launching their comms satellites in orbit and the Synapse System, tested in Synturia's correctional town, has also proven to mitigate inmate violence; however, to the extent of my knowledge, those are the industries I was aware the Sunset Sea Islands are invested in. I would very much appreciate it if you can enlighten me on the other Sunset Sea industries and technologies that could be presented in the proposed industrial/research facility. I look forward to receiving the drafts as well as your correspondence.

Best regards,

Nataline Percosset, Minister of External Affairs

"Following a rather small and fast contact with one of our representative in travel in Astriedan, it has come to our intention the will of the United Houses to modernised its aerial component of its military force. Which is why, in agreement of what we understood, I allow myself as DC of Aérospatiale to write you this letter to further know your intentions and in the hope of developing the needs and how we may fill them."

    • Summer has started in Antargis. The land of the eternal ice is being flooded with diffuse light, the ice slowly retreats, penguin chicks hatch and cute little seal pups open their round eyes for the first time. Whales graze on the abundant masses of plankton and krill cumulating in the frigid waters. But this year, something is different about the southernmost continent. There is a building standing between dunes of snow amidst the freezing haze. It is the Simon Station, the ISTC's foothold on the frozen continent.

It is their hope that you will accept my invitation to meet with Queen Julia III and her team at Thale Royal Palace to discuss this concept and reach a mutually acceptable treaty which will kick-start this ambition of a young Archaeology student.

Tonight we focus on the new Government of Ahrana, the Communist. In order for us to truly understand, we must go back to where it all began, and see why the movement was so successful. Now is the time to show the world why the Communist are here.

    • Military R&D making great progress Earlier today, testing for a 3.35 meter tall mech design began in northern Lithuania. From what first-hand witnesses have told the Times, the mech was able to destroy a car with relative ease, shoot fire, and smash through rubble. Other projects shown off at the testing site included a new type of suit able to make the wearer jump slightly higher than normal, light-activated night vision goggles, and improved military-grade shields. In addition, a large artillery piece with a built in targeting system was demonstrated.  Check back tomorrow for more updates from the Commonwealth Times, your local, and absolutely only, news network.
    • International News DONA PARASS HOSTAGE SITUATION ENDS IN FIREFIGHT- 12 PASSENGERS SLAIN February 14, 2018   -12 Passengers, 2 Navy, 30 Hijackers dead in hostage rescue operation Sakspati Cape, International Waters- Early this morning, members of the Armada Special Operations Command launched a large operation for the rescue of the remaining passengers of the Dona Parass cruise ship which had been hijacked by a large Circle of Death cell just yesterday. The hijackers had immediately claimed their affiliation with the Hellenic Russian, now international, terrorist organisation. Sources in Corregidor Maritime Command (CMC) have claimed that the hijackers had attempted to run the Dona Parass aground on a nearby reef, so that their ground accomplices could proceed to move hostages and plunder from the cruise ship. However, our source also claims that this plan was thwarted by an Armada Redentor class Littoral Combat Ship, the VRI Sant Tomas (LCS-018) which had intercepted the hijacked ship as she bore down on the reef. Officer in charge of the hostage rescue operation, Comandante Gregorio Segovia, of the Armada Special Boat Unit (SBU), reportedly forced the operation underway 4 hours earlier than originally planned, citing the possibility of greater loss of hostage lives due to the "daring interception made by the Sant Tomas". This decision, however, came at a cost. The details are yet to be confirmed by Corregidor, but as of now, we can ascertain that the early launch of the operation had caught support assets like aerial reconnaissance and Republican Marine Corps (RMC), unable to respond in time. In the ensuing chaos, 2 SBU operators were killed by hostile fire and 3 more were seriously injured in what can only be speculated from amateur videography as a gas explosion from amidships--which claimed 9 of the total civilian casualties. As Corregidor has yet to release the complete data on the mission, INBC cannot yet confirm the exact events which have just taken place on the Dona Parass, though NGOs and medical units have released some data able to paint a figure of the results. The hijackers had purportedly numbered just shy of 200 men, 30 of which were killed, another 50 injured, while the rest were able to flee on skiffs used for the initial boarding. 12 Civilians were killed, with another 20 injured by stray fire, shrapnel, or burns from the gas explosion. CMC has also yet to release the status of the 3 wounded Armada personnel. More on this as follows.   MUTUAL EMBASSIES WITH GALLAMBRIA February 21, 2018 In a short Palá conference today, Primo Franso Deitorr included a statement expressing the Republic's intention to expand diplomatic ties with the Kingdom of @Gallambria . According to Primo Deitorr's statement; "Iverican-Gallambrian ties have been strengthened in the wake of the recent tragedies befalling Walmington On Sea. Noting that the Kingdom has not only recognised our openness to cooperation in the recent months, allowing our diplomatic parties a formal embassy, as well as recognising the efforts of our valiant civil servicepersons working to create a safer Walmington On Sea--it is only natural that we likewise provide mutual establishment for the Gallambrian delegations. I am proud to announce that the Republic will be opening the diplomatic district to a Gallambrian Embassy. We are confident that this establishment will only prove to cement our relations for future endeavours and further aid in solidarity against any mutual tribulations that may come." When questioned about the possibility of future joint-projects with the Kingdom, Primo Deitorr suggested that the Republic would be "open to any joint military exercises, or any mutual infrastructure development that His Majesty Albert II or the Gallambrian Parliament, might be likewise inclined to". ---
    • Defence White Paper paints grim strategic picture HMGS Ocean during a day of exercises in Newport Beneath the surface hurly-burly of defence politics about "freedom of navigation patrols" and where build our new submarines, there are greater and more enduring currents of Gallambria's interests in a changing world. The surface impress of Anthony Greenwald was that he is less hawkish than his national security-focused predecessor, that he might well place less of a priority on defence spending.  Questions abounded as to whether he would keep the promise to spend 2 per cent of the nation's wealth on defence by early next decade as Johann Haasbroek had promised. Monday's white paper put those doubts firmly at rest. The fact that Greenwald has wedged into sticking with the 2 percent pledge - to abandon it would have caused a tsunami on his party's right wing - no doubt played a role. But Greenwald's motives make little difference to the rest of the world. In defence, action speak louder than words, especially when the action is the outlay of 195 billion pound in new military hardware acquisition over the next five years. By most assessments then, Monday's Defence White Paper is a clear statement that Gallambria is in the game of Marenesia's rising wealth, influence and military spending. At the strategic heart of the document is the rise of communism within the northern hemisphere. John Prollecks, a professor of security and strategic studies at the Gallambrian National University called the paper nothing less than "the end of the illusion in Bromwich that somewhow Communism, is not a threat to our democratic way of life." The language in the paper, Prollecks wrote in a blog post for the Gallambrian Strategic Policy Institute, made it "unmistakably clear that Bromwich's assessment about the trajectory of Communism's rise in influence has become more pessimistic." The sharpness of the paper's language is captured by a section that states "while it is natural for newly powerful countries to seek greater influence" some have "sought to challenge the natural order of our ultimate aim for world peace, by challenging the rules that govern actions in the global commons in unhelpful ways, leading to uncertainty and tension".
