As briefly discussed yesterday on Discord, I think I'd let to get involved in this RP. Thanks to the help of @Seylos I've set my sights on Estaria. Prymont will be searching to increase its social and political standing in the wurld by increasing foreign & humanitarian aid efforts. Estaria is described as a massively overpopulated country suffering from famine and political unrest. Prymont will form a coalition with the Prymontian Rus to step in and assist - Prymont will be the majority funder in the operation by providing financial support and will participate in propaganda campaigns and politicking in Estaria to persuade the populace to side with them, while also providing military support to fight off the Sentist threat. Prymontian Rus will also provide minor military support and will be providing crops from southern farmlands to help remedy the famine. We'll be starting off in Zaspa to help the @Variotans reinforce their control in the area and to provide any required assistance against the Sentists. From Zaspa we'll quickly move west to Estaria and begin the campaign there. Assistance will also be provided by @Iverica - Prymont has a naval base in the country and Iverica has existing military supply routes in the area. Intelligence opportunities will also be offered by the Ivericans - I'll let him expand on that if he wishes to. This will hopefully soothe relations between the Prymontian and Iverican armed forces which were significantly hurt during the takeover of the Hellenic Rus (see: the mess that was the Battle of Salonica). Once established in Estaria the coalition will ease overpopulation by offering new opportunities in Prymont & Prymontian Rus, the former of which is suffering particularly from a small population. We'll also look to establish trade agreements with nearby nations to overcome the famine and promote domestic farming with tax incentives. A puppet government with roughly an equal level of autonomy compared to the Prymontian Rus will be set up (with elections obviously rigged to get Prymontian-backed candidates into power). Meanwhile we'll be building factories for Prymontian companies to seek cheap labour and creating military outposts so the Prymontian armed forces aren't so bloody far away from everyone and everything. Our close proximity to the ICEB also allows us to laugh at the commies and their farcical handling of a humanitarian crisis, because they're commies and can't do anything well. Yes, this means Julian Nordeng is back. Questions, critiques, advice etc is welcomed. I'll be looking at making my first post sometime next week.

The Canamo Canal is set to be one of Prymont's most significant economic achievements in modern times. The country's economy had skyrocketed after abandoning socialism in 2017 and trade agreements with countries across the wurld were established. While the takeover of the former Hellenic Rus had been questionable at the best of times, it did mean the United States could significantly lower fuel prices due to the new access to copious amounts of crude oil. The Prymontian Rus also granted them access to the Mediargic Sea, which was something the country so sorely needed. A canal was a new dream - no longer would the United States have to rely on an expansive fleet of icebreakers to work through the unforgiving waters of the Argic Ocean, and once captains began refusing to sail to Prymont, they had to turn to air and road cargo. Finally, there was the potential to link the Canamo to the Mediargic and forget the woes of relying on the road networks of @North Dniester and @Ahrana or the high cost that came with air cargo. Sea trade was a possibility once more, and with a promising economic outlook, it was coming at the perfect time. At least, that's what the Ministry of Transport told the people. They conveniently left out that the economy had slowed as the estimated completion date of the project came and went while the canal was nowhere near ready. The icebreaker fleet had been retired for over a year, meaning that sea trade in Prymont was virtually dead. The country needed this canal but it just wasn't coming together. The blame was initially placed on building contractors. They'd come from mainland United States and refused to work in the Prymontian Rus when health and safety standards began to fall. Firm nudges from the Prymontian Rus Sarov Army were unsuccessful and a legal battle loomed. Fortunately there was an abundance of unemployed workers in the Prymontian Rus who were chomping at the bit to get back to work and earn some money. They were trained up, new machinery was purchased, and construction continued, albeit at great expense. Construction of the southern portion of the Canamo Canal by the Mediargic Sea. Recently, the troublemakers had shifted from homeland workers to local villagers. The canal was set to carve through countless towns and settlements and while the people were constantly reminded of the eventual benefits due to the upturn in footfall and the potential to create 'canal cities', there was still significant unrest. Homes were destroyed, communities torn apart, families turned on their heads, and for what? So one country could access the rest of the world? The people of the canal had been open to discussion and consideration, but when their planning committee meetings and objection tribunals were ignored by the Prymontians, they turned vicious. The Sarov were already having a tough time policing the area. They could do without the risk of a civil war. To make matters worse, the money was drying up fast. The canal had turned into a financial sinkhole and now the government had committed this much there was no turning back. Money trickled in from @Iverica and @Girkmand but the vast majority of the project was paid for by the Prymontian taxpayer, and cuts were being made wherever possible to ensure election promises were met of freezing income tax. The Prymontian Rus had ruled out any funding from the start since they already had access to the Mediargic, as did Dniester and Ahrana, and there was nobody else to benefit from the canal. Prymont had to pick up the slack, but they themselves were slacking. Political and economic commentators had picked up on the slowdown of work carried out on the canal. Criticism was thrown at the government left right and centre for committing to an overwhelmingly expensive project that was unnecessary in the grand scheme of things, since the Prymontian Rus had Mediargic access. The scheme was dubbed an excellent way to burn money and drown the hopes of the taxpayer in a better, cheaper tomorrow. Petitions with tens of thousands of signatures were submitted to the government asking for reviews and explanations only to be forgotten about through filibustering. Interviews were sidetracked as journalists queried representatives on the canal's progress, only for empty promises and vague answers to be issued. We're on track, we'll get there eventually, the opening of the canal will mark a great day for the United States. Many words could describe the canal, particularly those of a colourful vocabulary, but 'great' was not one of them, at least in a positive context. Perhaps a great failure, or the People's Party's great scam, but certainly not a great day for Prymont. Up to now, the canal had been a great waste of time, money, and effort. Would putting it right be worth it, or would it be best to leave as an eyesore, a permanent reminder of the incompetence and impossibly high hopes of these lowly northern dreamers?

You're moving into Ceris for the same reasons that I am - just being too far away from the rest of the wurld. The Scramble for Ceris is truly begun! Everyone else who hasn't got a slice of the strudel needs to get a move on

NEWS » WURLD President Chen Jiang gives an official statement on the conflict in Ceris. Currently no definite word on whether or not the State will be sending aid towards the people of Ceris. President says "if we can, we will." WANG SHUN | 30 MAY 2020 (Pictured) War-torn houses in Ceris in on-going conflict. After several months of deliberation by the State, President Chen Jiang said the following in a Presidential Conference: "Our hearts ache for the people of Ceris, hearing the suffering they are all going through. Unfortunately, we do not have the ability to officially support the people of Ceris, but we will do everything in our power politically to lessen their suffering. Also, at this time, the State does not officially recognize any claims on the island, as the political landscape is constantly changing, and we want to ensure we are supporting the government that will support the people of Ceris. I will be answering questions now on the State's stance towards the current conflict." One of the questions asked by one of our correspondents, Liu Ru, was whether aid was being considered, even if it wasn't possible at the moment. "If we can, we will. The State would like to support all those who are suffering, but we must look inward and help our own people before we can go outward and help others." Another question from a correspondent of the River Flows news agency asked President Chen Jiang if any troops would be moved from the northern border to assist in the conflict of Ceris. "Like I said, the State is not recognizing any claims on Ceris at this time. Sending our troops in would mean either supporting one side, or becoming our own side and . Also, we still must protect our own border, and the Beifang-Diren are armed on our border. Leaving would mean the end of the State." The questions then took a turn towards the Beifang-Diren border, such as whether or not the State would be going to war with the Diren to secure the north. "We have no plans to declare war on our northern neighbor. We are currently in talks the Prime Minister to sort out this border trouble and get our troops back to their loving wives." After this, President Chen Jiang ended the press conference and refused to answer any further questions. SOURCE: CHEN JIANG, HEIHE KNOWLEDGE

The Vocal Voice: Cartel Bust by Bust of Archpriestess' Bust! The Cartel plague that likes to show up it's head every now and again has come out wearing clown make-up as a gang part of the Wāxicayauh Cartel up in the peaks of Acolica had their main hide out raided by armed police with all members inside successfully arrested. How? Because one of the low level grunts decided to steal a statue. Last week, high up in the Tapatepetlis, a temple called Zin O'atlahuimiz hosted a regionally important jade stylised sculpture of the historic and only ever Archpriestess of Metztlitlaca (except for the current Archpriestess of Metztlica, Letzitlioho, of course!) Moyoluani. No one wants to admit it but like the lady of power herself, the personal sculptress of the first Archpriestess certainly was captivated by the feminine form! The statue was prominently the historic Archpriestess' chest, arms, and head. Such statues of only sections of a person are hard to come by nowadays after the had Azlo finally made their three hundred year long journey down to Palu and killed off the old inhabitants. No need for small statues when you have half a peninsula The quaint village of Onoyoluan - where the temple can be found - was shaken to it's core last Tuesday after a ruthless gang stormed Zin O'atlahuimiz and stole several priceless artefacts - one of which was the Moyoluani statue. Adding another priceless historic depiction of an Archpriest to the long list of stolen goods - most of them by Yatōtlaca[1]. This hasn't been the first encounter with gangs in Onoyoluan as cartel activity is high in the region where hard illegal drugs are often created or grown, but the residence of Onoyoluan's most recent encounter have set those living there down a new course; revenge. Three days later, come in the Onoyoluan police force, who get a tip from an anonymous civilian who saw a young Xochimican man in his mid twenties carrying something suspiciously bust-shaped wrapped in a white plastic bag. The civilian stated they saw the shady looking man enter an old house on the outskirts of the village which previously has been suspected of illegal activity in the past but was otherwise suspiciously empty. The brave police men and police women stormed the residence after another man had been seen entering the house from an old beaten car. The police were able to successfully arrest fifteen people within the premises and two other men who were foolishly coming down towards the house in an old Yatotlacan car with several of the stolen art pieces from the temple in the trunk. Deep within the house and hidden under a dirty white plastic tarp was the statue along with several packages of cocaine. It is unknown who the packages were for but the locals suspect our neighbours in the far north have been busy! The statue was thankfully recovered safe and sound along with the stolen goods from the temple. Within the house and by accounts from the gang members, it was revealed that the gang worked for the infamous Wāxicayauh Cartel. So far all of those within the household and the two gang members in the car are held in the local city's prison and going on trial. [1] - Yatōtlaca, a common nickname for Limonaia

Climate Gang Update 2: Island Boogaloo NOTE: Everything in this post is NOT FINAL. It is meant to be discussed and changed, nothing here is finalised. NOTE 2: If you are involved in the 3rd Antargic Council Meeting, read the paragraph below in red. Of the five (four) people who filled out the Eurth Map Revisions Feedback Form, it was primarily split between an update every week or every two weeks - so we will try to push out one of these every 1-2 weeks depending on how much we have done. Currently we are on Draft V2.3 taking on feedback and criticism by those who filled out the form, replied to this thread, or had asked in direct messages to Climate Group members. As done before we will split up each change into it's own categories; this time they are "Created" "Changed/Moved" and "Sunken/Removed". Below are two maps; one of all changes and one that is a generic blank map of Eurth. It should also be stated the way we conduct ourselves has also changed with a new 3-step minmum approval policy. Before any new changes can be added onto a new version of the map they must first be approved within the Climate Group private chat, then brought to those who are directly affected by the changes for confirmation/edits/declination. If those who are affected confirm the new changes and/or the changes are changed to better suit the those affected, the new compromised version is then returned back to the CG group for one final confirmation. This ensures maximum clarity and communication within the group, although does slow down time between versions. Green - Created Red - Changed and/or Moved Blue - Sunken and/or Removed Created Most new land created was primarily near the equator and near the Adisi Ocean. The @Oyus island chain was completely reworked with more uniquely designed islands and with said islands at a further distance from Oyus. Several smaller islands were also placed in the Adisi ocean for possible expansion plans for those who border the Adisi Ocean. @Yeosan was contacted about the new islands and he was positive with the changes. From what was said in the Eurth Map Revisions Feedback Form and in the Discord, the Manamana Isthmus change was rather controversial with an equal split between preferring the new Manamana Isthmus and the old Manamana Isthmus. As such we've decided to compromise on the situation by increasing the width of the isthmus to an average width between the original and Version 1. White - Version 1 Light Green - Version 2.3 Dark Green - Initial Thickness Like last draft, there will be a Feedback Form after a couple days, with a couple questions regarding the Manamana Isthmus. Changed and/or Moved As per expected, there are several islands that have been moved around as per request/decision making. Several islands were moved from the initial Oyus island chain into the Adisi Ocean as requested to allow for more varied expansion by those surrounding the ocean or had historically owned territory in the region. Most likely this will affect @Gallambria, @Oyus, and @Limonaia the most although said affect might be minimal/pre-expected. An island that is currently controlled by the now-inactive @Adaptus (Last online 18th May, 2019) was requested to be moved towards the middle of Occident Europa and Eastern Argis by @Tagmatium Rules as part of the recent Christian Lore Task Force (#bless)'s attempts at unifying the lore around Christianity on Eurth. The island's historic (new) placement would allow for ships from the Occident to reach Argis far earlier then in real life. The closest distance from Occident to Little Adapty (That's what I'm calling the island until someone corrects me) is 826 miles (1,330km). And the closest distance from Little Adapty to Argis is 491 miles (789km) if we allow for the usage of minor islands near the larger landmasses. A direct route from Little Adapty to Argis is 610 miles (981km) Compared to the initial jump from Europa to Little Atapty of 451 miles (726km) and then from Little Atapty to Argis of 989 Miles (1,592km). Both versions equal 2288km, but the newer version reduces the ranges and allows for more realistic travel times by boat. For an example, a straight line from Iceland to Greenland is 733 miles (1179km). This still puts at least one of the journeys on either version outside that limit, but i'll leave the Christian Lore Task Force (#bless) to figure that out. Either to continue to adjust the location of the island or to add another island as part of a chain. Below is where I would personally suggest an island* *Has not been reviewed by the GC nor CLTF Removed or Sunken Only several locations have been removed as this is the most controversial part of any design update. The least controversial will be the removal of "Generic_Island_01" from Oyus' island chain and instead replaced with the far more interesting island south of Yeosan's island. Another island removed is in the far north near Argis, which would be very unlikely to ever see action and reduces the overall emptiness of the map. It's location means it would most likely just be apart of the greater North Pole ice sheets. Below is a picture of a minor change to Argis as requested by @Prymont to allow for his canal to be more realistic (i.e. - cheaper). Contact of @North Dniester through Discord was unsuccessful so I could not ask his permission/opinion on the matter. The extended Canamo Sea follows his northern border with no reduction to his nation's size. Antargis' Aurelia-centred peninsula has been reduced in it's height to allow for it's ocean currents and that of Aurelia to remain distinct with only a small amount of circulation between them. This means that Antargis' ocean currents remained locked to it's continent primarily and reinforces the colder temperatures - similar to the real life Antarctica - keeping it uninhabitable. On the topic of Antargis... Antargis Appeal - Important! We required those who's RPs are tied with Antargis to provide feedback on the new continent. So far we have had zero responses and yet those involved who are willing to voice their opinions call us out on bad communication. As such I am stating this is our final draft on Antargis unless someone from the 3rd Antargic Council Meeting states they are unhappy with the changes and provides (constructive) criticism or requests for the changes to be reverted. We are happy to revert any changes any members feel are too intrusive or a worse then their initial versions. But we cannot *know* if people feel as though these changes are for the worse if they refuse to provide us with complaints or criticism. We were initially planning to [@] all members involved in the 3rd Antargis Council Meeting but we decided against doing so. We do not wish to cause a confrontation between members, but we cannot continue to let this drag us without a known conclusion. This decision was agreed upon by Orioni. Other Changes The war for what to call the tectonic plate to the east of the Marenesia Plate continues to rage on. "Oceanesia" is the current working title, but if anyone has an idea for a better name or prefers a name from above please state so in a reply on either here or on the Discord. After talking to Oyus we came to agree to leave the tectonic boundary as is, same with Tagmatium. If anyone wishes for their position near/on a tectonic plate to change please state so. Also; you are of course allowed to ignore any tectonic hazards that might occur in your nation due to the changes as with anything provided here - we are not the ones with the final say in your country. Well I mean, technically Orioni and the admins do if they believe you are going too far. But that's besides the point. Ocean currents remain relatively the same except with the reduction in currents mixing between Aurelia and Antargis. Friendly reminder that if you are close to the equator and have a warm current at your coastlines you can (realistically - up to you) have large expanses of coral reefs if you also have large regions of continental shelving. Continental shelves were not changed from the previous version except to accommodate the new/moved/removed landmasses. Prymont's continental shelving was extended slightly to be inline with the larger tectonic plate (and to allow for more fishing). Conclusion Although the first version came out on rocky terms and issues regarding communication, we have strived for this next version to be more transparent with the community and directly involving the members with more of the precise changes. Of course there is still much to do regarding both our quality of communication and the maps, but we hope that in the end everyone will come out of this happier and more satisfied with their countries and the wurld as a whole then when we started. In 2-3 days time, we will be releasing a second questionnaire regarding these proposed changes and to give you enough time to come to some conclusions about the proposal. If all goes well we will be able to begin work on the climate maps and as well join up with members of the community directly to begin work on maps for historic migration, modern day cultures, and distribution of cultures. But all in due time.
